Our History

Parappur Service Co-operative Bank Ltd. No. D 1987 is a Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) functioning under the Department of Co-operation, Government of Kerala. The bank operates within the jurisdiction of Parappur Grama Panchayath in Malappuram District and has been serving the community with dedication, trust, and financial stability for more than five decades.

Foundation and Vision

The bank was registered on 31 October 1969 and commenced its operations on 1 November 1969.

The institution was conceived and established under the visionary leadership of Shri. Thuppilikkat Moossa Sahib, former President of Parappur Panchayath and former Member of the Malappuram District Panchayath. His commitment to cooperative principles and rural development laid the foundation for an institution that continues to empower the local community.

Growth and Infrastructure

The bank began its journey in a rented building in 1969. As the institution expanded, it acquired 10 cents of land at Parayil within the Parappur Panchayath limits and constructed its own building, marking a significant milestone in its development.

In line with its continued growth and modernization efforts, the bank received approval from the Co-operative Department to construct a new state-of-the-art building. The modern facility was completed during 2025, and the bank shifted all operations to the new premises in 2026, providing enhanced services and improved customer convenience.

Classification and Branch Network

Since 2021, Parappur Service Co-operative Bank has been functioning under the prestigious Class One (Class I) category, reflecting its strong financial performance, operational excellence, and commitment to member welfare.

In addition to its Head Office, the bank operates an important branch at Iringallur Palani, serving members across the Panchayath area.

Festival Markets

The bank regularly organizes subsidized consumer fairs and festival markets to help control price increases and provide essential commodities to the public at affordable rates.

Social Security Pension Distribution

The bank efficiently facilitates the distribution of Government Social Security Pensions, including doorstep delivery services for eligible beneficiaries.

Haritham Sahakaranam

As part of the Government of Kerala’s sustainable development initiatives, the bank actively implements programmes under Haritham Sahakaranam, promoting environmental protection, agricultural development, and green cooperative practices.
